What we do
Libe Green Innovation is an innovative social enterprise founded in 2018. Our mission to achieve zero waste and provide employment opportunities in Tanzania, through collecting, processing and upcycling plastics, as well as engaging the community through talks and workshops on environmental sustainability.
Recycling Awareness and Training
Did you know that approximately 350,000 tonnes of plastic waste is generated annually in Mainland Tanzania? Most plastics never decompose, polluting ecosystems on both land and water. We educate the community and youths on the positive environmental impact that they can make through engaging workshops.
Plastic Gardens
We give plastic bottles a new life by reusing them to become aesthetically appealing plastic gardens. Plastic gardens introduce greenery to urban spaces. We offer customized designs for personal gardens, restaurants, hotels and more.
Plastic Flowers
Through upcycling, plastic bottles and other “waste” can be transformed into beautiful and meaningful household decor.
Manufacturing of Plastic Flakes and Pellets
Libe Green Innovation collects plastic waste from communities and transforms the waste into resources.

Liberatha Kawamala
Founder
Liberatha Kawamala is an entrepreneur who is at the forefront of environmental activism in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. A former logistics and transportation major, she is deeply passionate about environmental conservation and waste management, in particular, reducing single-use plastic waste. Not only is Liberatha the pioneer of over 300 environmental clubs across Tanzania where she teaches future generations about the importance of environmental conservation, she frequently gives talks at conferences and conducts awareness and training programmes.
